Attendee Terms
Marco Polo Summit · Version 0.1, draft for legal review · 13 October 2026
These terms apply to every application, ticket and visit to Marco Polo Summit 2027, held on 24 and 25 February 2027 at Capital C, Amsterdam. By applying you accept them. The organiser is Marco Polo Summit, Amsterdam ("we"; company registration details follow).
1. Application and selection
- Marco Polo is by application only. We read every application ourselves and decide who gets a seat. We do not have to explain a decision.
- We may ask you a question or two before we decide. We may check your public profile and your company's website.
- If we select you, you receive a personal invitation with a link to confirm your seat. The invitation expires after 14 days.
2. Tickets and payment
- There are 100 seats: 80 for brands, 10 for investors, 10 for enablers. Prices are €1,500, €2,000 and €2,500, excluding 21% Dutch VAT.
- Your seat is confirmed once we receive payment. Until then it can go to someone else.
- The ticket covers the full programme on both days, the welcome dinner on Wednesday, meals on Thursday and your place at a dinner table on Thursday evening. It does not cover travel, hotel or anything you order yourself.
- A ticket is personal and gives one person one seat. You cannot share it or split it across people.
- We send an invoice on confirmation. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date and in any case before the summit.
3. Changing or cancelling
Cancellations, refunds and substitutions follow our Return and Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.
4. The programme
- We publish the programme on our website and update it as speakers confirm. Speakers, sessions and timings can change. A change in the programme does not give a right to a refund.
- If we have to move the summit to another date or venue, we tell you as soon as we know. You can then keep your seat for the new date or ask for a refund within 14 days, as set out in the Return and Refund Policy.
- If we cancel the summit, you get a full refund of the ticket price. We are not liable for other costs, such as travel or hotels.
5. How we behave in the room
- The summit runs under the Chatham House Rule: you may use what you hear, but not say who said it or where. Sessions are not recorded by us or by you.
- The room is for exchange between peers. Selling, pitching, recruiting or distributing marketing material to other attendees is not allowed. Investors and enablers are in the room to take part, not to prospect.
- We expect everyone to treat each other with respect. Harassment, discrimination or behaviour that makes others feel unsafe gets you removed from the event without refund. Report anything to one of the founders on the day or to marcel@marcopolosummit.com afterwards.
- The attendee list is for attendees. Do not copy it, share it or use it for mailings.
- You follow the house rules of Capital C and of the restaurants and hotels we work with.
6. Photography and video
We photograph and film the summit for our own website, invitations and social channels. By attending you agree to appear in these images. If you prefer not to, tell us at registration and we brief the photographer. See our Privacy Policy for details and for how to have an image removed.
7. Liability
- You attend at your own risk. Arrange your own travel and health insurance.
- We are liable only for direct damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, and only up to the price of your ticket.
- We are not liable for loss or damage to your belongings, or for anything that happens outside the official programme.
- These terms do not limit any liability that Dutch law says we cannot limit.
8. Force majeure
If events beyond our control (such as government measures, strikes, severe weather, venue closure or illness of key people) make it impossible or unreasonably difficult to hold the summit, we may move or cancel it. Section 4 and the Return and Refund Policy say what you can expect in that case.
9. Your data
We handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Content and brand
The programme, the website and everything we produce for the summit is ours or licensed to us. You may not use the Marco Polo name or logo without our written permission. Speakers keep the rights to their own material.
11. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies. We first try to solve any dispute together. If that fails, the court in Amsterdam decides.
12. Changes
We may update these terms before the summit. The version at the top tells you which one applies. Material changes go to all confirmed attendees by email.
